Our promise, in plain words
- We do not keep anything you type. Keyvert never saves, logs or records your keystrokes or text, not on your Mac and not anywhere else.
- Nothing you type ever leaves your Mac. Converting, punctuation, writing direction, spelling and grammar all happen entirely on your computer.
- The only thing the app sends over the internet is your subscription information: whether this Mac is on its free month or has a paid plan. That's it.
What happens to your typing
To retype text in the right language when you tap the shortcut, Keyvert has to know which keys you just pressed. It holds the last few hundred key presses in the Mac's working memory only, and erases them as soon as you click, press Return, switch apps or change keyboards. When Keyvert quits, they're gone.
- Never stored. Keystrokes and text are never written to a file, a log, a database or the cloud.
- Never sent. Keystrokes and text are never sent to keyvert.io, to us, or to anyone else, and no part of what you type is ever included in a network request.
- Never shared or analyzed. We don't collect typing statistics, word lists, app names or anything about what or where you write.
- Spelling and grammar use the dictionaries built into macOS, on your Mac.
- Converting selected text briefly uses the clipboard on your Mac and then puts back whatever was there before.
- Password fields are protected by macOS, so Keyvert never sees what you type in them.
The only information the app sends: your subscription
To start your free month and check your subscription, Keyvert contacts keyvert.io about once every few hours. Each check sends only:
- an anonymous ID for your Mac: a one-way code made from its hardware ID, which can't be turned back into it and doesn't include your name or serial number;
- the Keyvert version, the macOS version and your system language, so we know which versions to support.
keyvert.io answers with your license status (free month, Full or Lite, and the renewal date). If you move your license to a new Mac, the app also sends the subscription ID and email you enter for that purpose. Nothing else is sent, ever.
What the website collects
To count visits and downloads, the website stores a random ID in your browser (not a cookie) and records page visits, download clicks and checkout steps, together with your approximate country and the site that referred you. If you cancel, the reasons and comment you choose to give on the cancellation page are saved so we can improve Keyvert. We don't use advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
Payments
Payments are handled by PayPal. We receive your name, email address, country and subscription status from PayPal so we can link your payment to your Mac and provide support. We never see your card number. PayPal's own privacy statement applies to the payment itself.
How long we keep data
Usage counts are kept to understand how Keyvert is used. Subscription records are kept as long as needed for accounting and support. To have your data deleted, email privacy@keyvert.io with your subscription ID or your Mac's ID (shown on the Buy page).
